bribery in the philippines

Political stalemate; is it worth it? Does replacing the incumbent president by its constitutional successor, the only viable way to stabilize the rotten politics that this (in) famous country have?

For a normal, ordinary citizen that doesn't even had any access to first hand information disseminated by the media, I believe it is necessary that the palace of Malacañang be transparent in the issue of bribery. Everyone knows that it against the constitution if an elected public official receives any kind of gifts coming from the president or any other institution, be it money in the form of cash or any other valuable gifts. Money coming from bribe is still illegal be it an old practice!

Old habits die hard as the cliché goes but it doesn't mean that corruption in the government cannot be eradicated. If ousting the incumbent president solves this issue, then I, as one of its citizens agrees to it. However, I still had my doubts whether the constitutional successor of the president is capable of reforming the soiled politics of this country, or whether the said successor wouldn't end up the same as his predecessors.

At the end of the day, however, whether the country changed leadership or not, the same question still stays the same; where in the world did they get that 500,000 Philippine pesos cash that was allegedly bribed to local government officials? Was it from the national treasury that each tax payers spared, taken from their salaries or was it an illegally obtained money?
