Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix: Was it Worth the Watch?

Was it worth the watch? Seriously do you think it's worth it?

Probably if you're going to side with the book-readers' perceptions then the movie flops, or better yet didn't satisfied what you've been expecting it to be, plainly because of a lot of inconsistencies that were present in the said screen play. However, if you're going to side on the movie-fanatics' perception then you might as well give it a perfect score in IMDB, for it's superb visual effects in the climatic ending at the Ministry of Magic. See the difference now?

Many Harry Potter fans had made huge and extensive reviews for the said movie since its airing on the eleventh of July, and some of which were even posted in IMDB per se. A lot of fans argue on its content and quality that they even flooded the board of IMDB with 922 comments from different individuals and still counting. So how in the world are you going to rate it, if hypothetically you haven't read the book or you just don't even know the movie's existence till you pop inside a theater and it's showing?

Definitely you're going to rate it by what you see! Simple as that. However, you will feel as though the climatic visual effects seems short. Why not longer? Why not darker? Why not more thrilling? Why not more suspenseful? So I think this would be the spice that the book-readers were looking for in the movie. They wanted every important event to be longer, not just a few minutes. They demand more, just to give justice to what they had extensively read and waited for to be portrayed in by real people. These I think were missing to it.

Nonetheless, acting-wise is good, and portrayal of each character was definitely superb, but not all will agree with me if I say that the adaptation of the script is fairly okay. So I say just go and watch it. Do spend some money to splurge on it.

If spoiler to the movie, screen caps, or extensive reviews is what you're after then I recommend you to click the links above, because as of now, my brain is in the process of its long hibernation; and sleep deprivation is taking its toll on me. I shall try to make one when I took some rest. Read More......

size twelve is not fat

Author: Meg Cabot

Plot:
Heather Wells, a teen pop sensation, was dropped by her recording label, Cartwright Records, was dumped by her fiance, Jordan Cartwright, and was robbed by her own mother of her savings from her successful teen career; had reached rock bottom and was forced to work in New York College's Residence Hall - Fisher's Hall, as an Assistant Directress, to start her life all over again. Though, she thought that she now had a place to call home, after her mother abandoned her and fled with her manager, unexpected deaths of female freshmen started to loom over the place, and what's worst was that it happened right before the residence hall she was working for - Fisher's Hall! Was it purely accident, or a lose psychopath had invaded the said residence hall? Will Heather and her dream man, Cooper Cartwright, solve the mystery of the said deaths and find the truth behind the alleged elevator surfing accidents?

Characters
Main Characters:
  1. Heather Wells - The protagonist in the story. She was a singer and a teen pop sensation, that was dropped by her record label due to conflict of interest with the way she wanted her career to move in the direction she wanted. Much to anyone's surprise she was actually a size 12 woman.
  2. Cooper Cartwright - The supporting character of the protagonist. He was the first person who offered help to Heather when she had reached the lowest part of her life. He, more so, is a certified detective, and at the same time the older brother of Heather's ex-fiance, Jordan Cartwright, who helped her solve the mystery.
  3. Rachel Walcott - The directress of Fisher's Hall which played a major part in the actualization of the story. She was a graduate of B.S. Chemical Engineering, a size 8 woman, and a Pansy Awardee for noble excellence in her work.
  4. Christopher Allington - A law student, and the only son of the president of New York College, Mr. Allington. Despite being the son of the president that lives in the penthouse of the residence hall, he likes to hang around the Fisher's Hall mainly to come close contact with different young innocent freshmen and be their acquiantance. He, more so, likes to use aliases.

Supporting Characters:
  1. Jordan Cartwright - The ex-fiance of Heather that can't stand to what he believes in. More so, he was just so obedient to his father's will, the owner of Cartwright records, that he can't even act on his own accord without prior jurisdiction from him. He, by the way, cheated on Heather that lead to their discord.
  2. Tania Trace - The current fiancee of Jordan, and the reason behind the break-up between Heather and Jordan.
  3. Magda - Also a Pansy awardee, and an employee of the college cafeteria.
  4. Mr. Allington - The president of the New York College where Heather works. He and his wife were the residents of the penthouse found in Fisher's Hall.
  5. Mrs. Allington - Mother of Christopher or Chris. She was an alcoholic, forgetful, harsh and shopaholic type of a woman. There was never a time she appeared sober in the story.
  6. Patty - The best girl friend of Heather, and wife of Frank, a rock star. She never abandoned Heather in times of her needs.

  7. Detective Donavan - The detective who investigated the so-called accidents that happened in Fisher's Hall.
  8. Elizabeth Kellogg - The first casualty in the story. Her body was found under the elevator shaft, due to alleged elevator surfing.
  9. Roberta Pace - One week after the death of Elizabeth, she followed. She was the next casualty of the alleged elevator surfing.
  10. Amber - She was fortunate enough not to end up as the third victim of the elevator surfing incidents.
  11. Marnie - Roommate of Elizabeth. Proved to be useful sometime in the event of the investigation.
  12. Lakeisha - Roommate of Roberta, and was traumatized by the event of her death. She also gave several information as to who she might thought was last person her roommate had met.
  13. Gavin - A student who loves elevator surfing. Proved to be a major problem for Heather, because he doesn't want to pay attention to her authority. He also is not afraid to break the rules or be the next victim of the elevator surfing incident. He's name was also used to lure Heather into a trap.
  14. Julio - A maintenance staff who always helps Heather in chasing and reprimanding Gavin from elevator surfing. Most of the metal debris of the elevator bomb explosion squeezed him, but he's still alive though.
  15. Sarah - Also an employee at the residence hall. She was coerced, binded and used by the antagonist to lure Heather in the trap.

Location:
The story started in Fisher's Hall residence and ended up also there.

Theme:
  1. Mystery - This was the most evident theme in the story. The whole story started with the mysterious deaths of two freshmen who doesn't even know, hadn't even a slight background nor tested elevator surfing, but ended up in bottom of its shaft. The main theme served as a leverage for the protagonist to act and to solve the said mystery, even at the point of risking her own life for thrice.
  2. Death - This was another theme expressed in the story. This theme only served as a support or a backdrop for the Mystery theme.
  3. Romance - This was the third evident theme expressed in the story. It was exemplified in the overt feelings of Heather towards Cooper, and Cooper's covert feelings towards her. Likewise, this was also exemplified in still Jordan Cartwright's affection towards Heather.

Critic
I'm writing this because I liked the story so much that it's worth sharing with. Though, I found the said themes to recur in every novel of the author, I must say, I'm really impressed on how she somehow kept the true identity of the antagonist upto the very last chapters of this book.

With regards to the author's writing style, her style reaches the very depths of the imagination of the readers and captivates them fully.

The said book is easy to understand and fun to read, though there were these floppy songs that were really not congruent with the flow of the story. More so, I must include, that the story was left hanging for the readers to just guess what might happen between the covert feelings of Cooper towards the protagonist, Heather, which was really not good.

But over all I still rate this book 5/5 for the delight that it had brought me.

Recommendation
Though the story was left hanging I still recommend each and every one of you to grab your copy and read the book because it's really nice and fun to read. Moreover, also grab the next book entitled "Size 14 is not fat Either", cause that appeared to the continuation of this book.

zac efron: i didn't sing in high school musical!

On not being allowed to sing in High School Musical:
“I didn’t even sing on the first album. It wasn’t my voice in the movie. Even though I wanted to do it. So what do you do when the entire cast is supposed to accept an award at the Billboard Awards and your voice is only on the album in a select few lines. I felt extremely guilty.”

I've found here in us magazine about an article containing Zac Efron's interview from Rolling Stone and I couldn't believe what I read... Zac Efron didn't sing in high school musical! I just can't believe it... as in I'm totally shocked! After all those nice comments and awards the show received, and after patronizing it - then this. Like OMG, then whose voice is he lip-syncing for? Why in the world is he not allowed to sing the said songs? This is totally outrageous.

Anyway it's still good to watch it, then who cares if it isn't his voice. Read More......

formaldehyde on shampoo?!

Disclaimer:
This was the email that I had received from a friend, and I had left the brand name of the shampoo and the company blank to protect myself from being sued for either of the following: libel, defamation, and the like, and to also protect the name of the said business establishment.

I am in no means of trying to ruin any business name, nor do I'm trying to make a profit about this issue. But it's up to you if you're going to believe the said electronic mail or not. However, it is a must that any individual using any volatile products much check first the ingredients before applying it to any parts of the body.

Sa mga gumagamit ng _____ shampoo basahin nyo ito...

Ei guys... alam nyo ba yung shampoo and conditioner na _________?.. One of the ingredients of it is the "Formaldehyde" which is commonly called "Formalin" - Yes, yung ginagamit pang embalsamo ng dead people.. scary noh? (See for your self if you doubt about it).. everytime na nag shampoo tayo ng may Formaldehyde ingredients, parang enembalsamo na rin natin ang ating mga sarili.

Actually, I already called the _______ Customer Care and confirm to them that "Formaldehyde is actually the Formalin, and they said, "Yes, its Formalin, but they just put to the shampoo, a little amount so that it is still safe to the people...".. Pero diba, kahit little amount lang yung nilalagay nila sa shampoo but if everyday tayo gumagamit, everyday din nadadagdagan ang amount na nilalagay natin sa ating ulo na Formalin.

I also searched to the internet "What is Formaldehyde? " and here are some definitions of it:

  1. A chemical used in manufacturing and chemical industries, and as a preservative by anatomists, embalmers, and pathologists. Being exposed to formaldehyde may increase the risk of developing leukemia and brain cancer. www.stjude.org/ glossary
  2. is a colorless, strong-smelling gas. It is widely used in household products, such as glue, wood products, permanent press fabrics, flooring, cabinets, and furniture. enviromysteries. thinkport. org/breakingthem old/resources/ glossary. shtml
  3. Although not common as a primary ingredient, formaldehyde is present as a contaminant in many consumer household products. It is an extremely potent carcinogen and respiratory irritant and may appear as a preservative. Products containing this chemical should be considered unacceptable. www.seventhgenerati on.com/site/ pp.asp

and a lot more... mag search na lang kayo if you need more information about Formaldehyde. :-)

Hindi lang naman ______ ng _______ ang may ingredients na Formaldehyde, yung _______ _______ din nila na shampoo meron din. Personally, alarming sya dahil Formalin is not really good for our health. Though maganda nga hair natin, but still.. in long run.. if we keep using shampoo / conditioner na may content na Formaldehyde, baka preserve na ang body natin even if we are still alive. What's the use of the good looking hair, if our health is in at risk.

This e-mail is not for making bad impression to ________ shampoo/conditioner. I just want to share my opinion regarding this alarming discovery. It's up to you if you would care to think/reflect about it or not.

Disclaimer:
I have nothing against the ________ SHAMPOO, its just that.. so far, sa _______ ko lang kasi nakita ang Formaldehyde na content.

For Your Information.

Have a Nice Day!!

floppy disk galore

Nowadays, in this advance technological world, usage of floppy disks (or what the my computer registers as 3.5 floppy) seems unconventional and even regarded as primitive by most of the computer experts. Why does it seems unconventional? Because it can store only a small fraction of file as compared to a portable mass drive, an optical drive or even a memory stick. More so it had a high tendency to become inaccessible when not written properly. (Refer to wikipedia dot org for more info.)

But why am I updating my page with this kind of hullabaloo?

Well, a customer just stormed in the office, trying to figure out what the hell had happened to their diskettes. Imagine they seem to be uprooted on the ground when they realized that the diskette they had sent was not accessible to our dearly-old windows xp computer. What's most intriguing was the fact that they doesn't even have a decent cd writer nor a memory stick to back up the said files, when they can splurge on an Apple Ipod!

This is a simple case of conformity to fad and fashion rather than meeting the basic needs required. More so it also a wrong way to invest your money over time, since Ipod's likability to stay in the market is not enduring or it's not designed to stay for a longer period of time, since, (correct me if I'm wrong) like two or three months a new version of the said gadget booms in the market with a lot better feature than the first and that its value depreciates over time. Well as compared to buying yourself a burner (e.g. cd or dvd) for storage media purposes, then you likely invested your money in a good equipment, since most people had a lot of files stored in a pc or laptop, that you wished to back up if or either the said computer had crashed or you want to share it with the rest of your friends. Chinese Spongebob Notebooks Recalled

Another recall from another Chinese product

I can't remember if it was yesterday or the other day that another product from China was being recalled in different countries. The said product, sponge bob notebooks, have been said to have high lead content in their metal spiral binder.

According to the news, exposure to high lead content can cause severe brain damage to children, and that it should be noted that other countries are doing it for the safety of their citizens, and not a discrimination of the Chinese products.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Excessive amounts of lead paint on toys and other children's products led the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to issue a recall of more than 300,000 Chinese-made items on Wednesday.

The recall includes about 250,000 SpongeBob SquarePants address books and journals because they may have excessive levels of lead paint on their metal spiral bindings.

My Opinion

Not that I'm into condemning Chinese products, but it should be noted however that it is the safety of all individuals using their products are involved, primarily the children. Children are the most vulnerable victims of this kinds of products, and parents are not willing to just sacrifice the life of their child through a mere notebook with poisonous content!

This is a wake-up call to the Chinese Government. Please, safety first, before anything. Try to be considerate with the rest of the world!

Plain Nothingness...

Okay, here is the deal... watch the news clipping above to know what I'm talking about.

Transcript: (Field Reporter)

Pasado alas-otso ng tahimik na magdisperse ang mga raliyista sa San Sebastian.

[Translation: At around past 8:00 in the evening the protesters peacefully dispersed the San Sebastian area.]

Ngunit, matapos ang ilang negosasyon...

[But after some negotiations.]

Read the entire transcript of the field reporter below

Ito'y matapos na magdisperse sila... pagkatapos nito ah?...

[After they dispersed... after which, ah?]

At di na sila nagaway; nagaway sila sa simula pagkatapos nito'y nagkaroon sila ng pagaaway nung simula.

[and they didn't fight/argue; they fight/argue in the beginning, but after which, they argue/fight in the beginning.]

Okay... read the translation of the not-so-good type of reporting, by a boasting television network claiming that they're indeed the best television network in the entire land of the Philippines, now did you understand what the reporter was trying to convey?

Well as for me, I didn't grasped the message it conveys. But judging by the introduction of the news anchor (the one wearing a suit), I think this news footage has got something to do with the scandal enveloping the legitimacy of the presidential election that happened way back in 2004.

I hadn't had the opportunity to watch the said news, until someone placed it on Youtube. To be honest, I don't watch any programs in their network, for a lot of reasons which includes credibility.

Life...? Are you there?

"Life...? Where are you?" I bellowed as I scrambled up my feet looking at the small corner of each place.

"Life...?" I desperately called out, "Where are you?" as I reached the front step. I opened the door and there I found what I was looking for - my little life. He was crying and sobbing looking at the farthest place he could see.

Pointing he said, "I want to go there..."

I sat down beside him and mumbled "I wish I could..."

Ben Sherman White River Jacket

This is what I feel from this very moment... I feel like a caged bird with wings tied up, unable to fly. I feel that my freedom is suppressed. I know there's more to life than what I have now and I want to explore that. I want to be a part of a so called world, where only happiness prevails.

things to do

1. Find a decent job! (Not under the employment of my parents and their business).
2. Work the PR of this blog, from n/a to something. (If you like to exchange links, feel free to leave me a comment on the tagboard!)
3. Enroll to a Master's Degree Program. (Well, wish I could do it now!)
4. Master the Spanish language. (I'm beginning to think that I'm forgetting it)
5. Learn my way into working out the HTML language. (Yeah... I'm so noobie on it!)

What else do I need to do? Anyway, as for now that would be my most basic priorities, and hoping that maybe someday the list would change, because some of it had already been done. Feel free to help me out on number 2, though.

And oh, by the way, I'm beginning to think does anyone ever been successful in affiliate programs? Cause it seems so surreal that a lot of people claim that it had helped them financially and all.

Hay! I really needed a decent job... Replay 920 Low Straight Jeans
hahaha.... see how my mind does work from deprivation of a decent job that matches what you have graduated from. I need it so badly... got to find now one and hope I do find it quick and compensate me so dearly enough to buy what I've been craving for.

For One More Day: A Review

This was the third novel that I had read from Mitch Albom, a well-acclaimed writer, and so far he still amazes me with his literary works. I'm quite overwhelmed by the message of the novel's story that it made me cry, and it made me realize that I'm very blessed to have somebody to depend on in times of hardships that crosses my path - a mother.

A mother's love, as it is portrayed in the novel, endures overtime even after death. Something that every child should understand and should never under-estimate, cause it's the last thing and place where a child could get strength to constantly fight and survive the hardships that they face.

I thank God, that I still have a mother, though not perfect, but loving and caring.

Anyway, I rate this book 5 stars and I highly recommend it to book lovers out there.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: A Review

The Harry Potter series, written by J.K. Rowling, started evidently on the boy who lived (from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone); the boy who had survived a killing curse brought about the most feared Dark Lord. Now, in the last and final book, Deathly Hallows, it had ended from the way it had begun - a back-fired curse.

But how did that happen again? Well if you had read the book you will find out the answer why.

However to those who haven't read it, then sorry to spoil your excitement. It happened because the new wand that Voldemort used to kill Harry again didn't respond to his orders due to the fact that it doesn't won its, the wand, allegiance. Instead, Harry had won its allegiance prior to Voldemort's pursuit to it.

That is the main reason why Harry was not killed by Voldemort's curse, instead it killed its caster.

So far, this is the darkest novel ever written by J.K. Rowling, and the most exciting of them all. The book itself can draw out your emotions, and can stir your imagination vividly. Hence, I totally recommend it to those book lovers out there.

The other things that you will discover by reading the book are as follows:

1. The Horcruxes

2. The Hallows

3. Snape's Loyalty

4. Petunia's Howler

5. Lily Evan's Life and

6. The deaths of the said 2 main characters in the story
