history... genealogy... census... a tedious process.

I was thinking if public documents (i.e. retrieving colonial Spanish documents like birth certificates, census, et. al.) were easily accessible over the so-called internet network, then delving into the past wouldn't be that cumbersome. If such was possible, then it wouldn't be so hard to go to the region most likely that would contain answers to your specific questions, and there is not a need to fall in line just to acquire the certain documents most likely viable to the reason why you were existing today. Not that those documents might prove something in your present living existence, however, it might actually help in determining who you really are.

As I've learned in Biology, every human being stems from two different individuals with different characteristics combined, and those people also had their characteristics as a combination of their predecessors. These traits are embedded in the genes and being passed down through generations to generations. Most likely than not, these passed on details might lead on to something that isn't known yet to its possessor.

All I'm pointing out is this, history plays a vital role in a certain individual, and without knowing your own roots, then most likely than not, you just end up living and feeling empty - feelings of existential vacuum may do arise.

If I where to ask you, do you know where you originated from? Of course the common reply would always sum up to yes, I came from my parents, and my parents came from my grandparents. However it does ends there, only a few can actually give a precise genealogy of their family, and seldom people adds up misconstrued information that is being passed over to the next generation. Hence, I do ponder whether is it possible to centralize the censuses in certain government offices, so as to extract remnants of the past that might be the missing piece on a certain individual's life. But most likely, that wouldn't end in fruition because of the major threat on communication systems in the las islas Filipinas.
